McBug

I picked this cicada up off the ground before it molted into its final adult form. I took these photos once it emerged from its old skin.

Cicadas are such strange bugs. They’ve always looked to me like a tank designed by George Lucas for a McDonald’s happy meal (notice the golden arches on its back, its 5 eyes, the radiator grill on its nose).
